And Everything In Between…

Dear Live and Invest Overseas Reader,

If you’re after the best quality of life for your future…

Without any danger of burning through your nest egg…

There’s only one place to turn right now:

Latin America.

No matter what kind of lifestyle you’re after…

No matter what size budget you have to play with…

There’s a place with your name on it here.

You could escape to your dream home overlooking the crashing Pacific…

Or live steps from the powder sand and gentle waters of the Caribbean…

Maybe you’d prefer a sophisticated city, full of Old World charm, where you’d never be short on entertainment…

Or to spend your days riding through the foothills of the southern Sierras… and nights unwinding under the stars with a glass of wine from your own boutique vineyard…

These kinds of experiences are a reality for hundreds of expats I know…

And, you can have them for half (or less) than you’d pay for the same privileges in the United States…

In fact, the cost of living can be so low that many folks are breaking from the rat race and retiring south of the border years earlier than they planned…

At 49, Lee quit his engineering job in New York, with just modest savings, and moved with his wife to a historic city in Ecuador—a place you can live the good life today for around $1,000 a month…
The Spanish-colonial lifestyle is one you just can’t find back home…

Carole and Dave retired from Virginia to Colombia’s “City of Eternal Spring” where they cut their cost of living from US$8,000 to US$3,000 a month…

“We could live more frugally,” Carole says, “but we don’t want to, and we don’t have to”…

Dusty and Carolyn knew their days in Hawaii—the couple’s original retirement plan—were numbered. So, they turned to Latin America to see where they could stretch their dollars…

“Panama was everything we were looking for in retirement living,” says Dusty. “It has beautiful beaches, a warm climate, lush mountainous terrain (that remind us of the Hobbit movies), and a large and vibrant expat community.

“We could never have afforded this lifestyle back in the States…

“We eat out three times a week and go to the movies often. Still our full entertainment budget for the month is just US$200. Altogether, we’ve cut our cost of living by 75%.”

You, too, have this world of opportunity before you…

The chance to retire in style… without compromise… and maybe years earlier than you’d planned…

In fact, when you see the places—and prices—I have in store for you, you may find you’re ready to retire right now…
Want city and beach? No problem. You can have both… and live well on US$1,230 a month.
Your “No Compromises Retirement”
—Much More Than Cheap Living And
Great Weather
Now, anyone can point you to the cheapest place to retire on the planet.

But I understand you’re moving for a certain lifestyle.

You’ll want services (from fast internet to quality health care to nice restaurants).

You’ll want to know you’re in a safe place.

You’ll want a welcoming community… and, probably, some English-speaking neighbors (at least while you get settled in)…

Over the past 35 years of exploring, living, investing, and doing business around Latin America, I’ve built a shortlist of my 7 top havens…

It’s these places—where you can enjoy a luxury retirement on as little as US$1,658 (that’s today’s average Social Security check)—I’d like to tell you about today…

In these havens, you can…
Pick up a bottle of award-winning wine for US$4… or cool down with an ice-cold beer for US$1…
Enjoy a steak dinner with all the trimmings at a beachside restaurant for less than US$10…
Rent a three-bed apartment in the most sophisticated city south of the border for US$313 a month…
Own a brand-new condo, a couple of minutes’ walk from pure Caribbean shores, for US$99,900…
See a doctor or consultant for a quarter the cost in the U.S…. and pick up your prescription drugs for 85% less…
Have a full-time maid—who’ll also cook meals—for US$150 a month…
Get the bus across town for 50 cents… or take a taxi for US$2…
Before we take a closer look at these top havens, there’s something else you should know about Latin America…

Take the chance and just do it!

If you are one of those many people who, like myself just a few months ago, are “sitting on the fence”, trying to decide whether or not to invest the money in researching a new and less expensive overseas place to live, well jump off…take the chance and just do it! Thank you L & I for convincing me to come… it is good advice and very, very educated advice. You will have my loyalty for a lifetime.

This Is Not The Third World
(Don’t Let The Low Prices Fool You!)…
When I started out exploring here in the 1990s, I’d have called most of Latin America third-world. No question.

But today, the sands are shifting…

In some places, the changes are dramatic…

Panama, for example, is barely recognizable from my first visit in the late 1990s. In the past 10 years alone, the changes have been dramatic…

Panama City is a bustling metropolis with a first-world infrastructure.
The country is working to join the list of first-world nations by 2030. And, from what I see all around me, she’s on track…

But this shift is happening in other parts of Latin America, too…

The middle class is growing… it’s educated… and these young, smart professionals want a better lifestyle…

Governments are stepping up…

Where you once had a dirt track, today there’s a paved road… even a highway…

Connectivity is no longer an issue
in this part of the world…
You have U.S.-style shopping malls… modern hospitals with first-world services… shiny new airports offering daily direct flights…

It’s easier to find your home comforts here…

It’s easier than ever to get to and from Latin America… and stay connected with friends and family back home…
And it’s also the most exciting time in decades to be in this under-rated part of the Americas…

All around, you can feel the drive, the energy, the sense of freedom…

Whatever you can dream of you can do it here…

But you can do it at an affordable cost, because prices—on almost everything— are still third-world…

The people are warm and friendly

We want to thank you for introducing us to this beautiful, modern and safe city. The people are warm and friendly, the tree lined streets are clean and there are enough restaurants to satisfy everyone’s taste…

Real-Life Stories: How These Expats Are
Following Their Passions South
Of The Border

Retired high-school teacher Lyndi Allison and her husband were attracted by the year-round sunshine and outdoor lifestyle of Panama’s Gold Coast…

“Back in Ontario, between snow and black fly season, we were stuck indoors for months on end,” says Lyndi. “Here, in Panama, we step outside our bedroom door into another beautiful day… every day.”

An avid writer, Lyndi runs English-speaking writing workshops near waterfalls, mountains or the beach… all within easy reach of home. Even the pandemic didn’t stop her. In lockdown, she had time to catch up on her own writing projects and completed her YA science-fiction trilogy.

Lyndi’s advice is, “Take what you love most and use it to begin your new best life.”
Rob Burrows said goodbye to Ohio and is now, as he puts it, “a truly happy person” living in the Caribbean. Rob was working his way through the rat race in his hometown of Cleveland, leaving him only two weeks every year to vacation in the Caribbean…Eventually, Rob figured out a way to make every day a vacation—he bought a beach bar in Belize…
These days, Rob and his wife are having the time of their lives on a white-sand beach… and welcoming expats and travelers to their small hotel and bar where they host hermit crab races, bingo, guitar jams, trivia nights, and more.

Rob even reports he lost 70 pounds after his first 8 months living his new beach life overseas.
After 15 years of traveling to Nicaragua, Darrell Bushnell and his wife Amy finally settled in the colonial town of Granada.“We bought a 160-year-old colonial house with a large patio, and we knew right away this was the place for us,” Darrell told us. “Everything in Granada is within a short walk of everything else. Vendors come to our door selling fruits, vegetables, soap, animals… just about anything you could imagine. We enjoy the unexpectedness of it all.
“You tend to reinvent yourself when you make a move like this. I never wrote before in my life, but now I write a lot. Amy has always been in art, but she never taught before. Whatever you’re interested in, there’s something here for you to do.

“We love it here… the only regret is we didn’t move down here sooner.”
Here’s How We’ll Begin
Our Search For Your New Home…
If you’re ready to take action and nail down your own plan for a freer, richer, and more fulfilling life overseas, then you need to do one thing right away…

Open your calendar and mark the dates Oct. 18 – 20, 2023.

That’s when I’ll be hosting our popular Live and Invest in Latin America Virtual Conference.

And I’d love for you to join me…

Over these three days, my top experts and expats from Latin America will come together online to help guide you through all your top options here…

Via high-definition video, you’ll see and hear from this network of professionals, expats, and retirees who are already working, investing, or living in these places… all from the comfort and convenience of your own home (or wherever you plan to be this summer)…

We’ll compare and contrast each haven so you can make your own shortlist…

And we’ll arm you with everything you need to know to set up your new life in paradise…

Where will we start?

First, we’ll take a tour of my top 7 havens in Latin America… all of which give you options to live a richer life on less than Social Security…

On our list, we have…
Mexico… Hands down the easiest place for a North American to transition to expat life. Not only can you drive here, but you’ll find lots of your favorite brands… in a country that boasts both Pacific and Caribbean beaches, along with 16th-century Spanish colonial towns…
Panama… A top retirement and business haven with the best infrastructure in Central America. If you’re looking to start a business, or invest in a market ripe for profit, Panama should be high on your radar…
Brazil… A huge, diverse nation with excellent investment opportunities, world-class beaches, and bargain property on the coast. As a Portuguese-speaking country, Brazil offers an unexpected twist on Latin American living…
Belize… This English-speaking Caribbean paradise is less than 3 hours from the United States. A country that feels like one small town, it’s a top option for escaping the troubles of the world and embracing the simple pleasures of life…
Colombia… An extremely affordable place for the incredible lifestyle on offer. North Americans are quickly catching on to the charms of this progressive country…
Dominican Republic… Affordable Caribbean island living with a strong European flavor… and home to the oldest city in the New World. This country also boasts one of the best residency and citizenship programs we’ve ever known…
Argentina… Affordable luxury living in one of the most friendly and welcoming havens on our list. Argentina offers the opportunity for great adventure in wide, open spaces (with award-winning wine)…
But this is nowhere near the full story…

These countries simply represent the big picture.

To identify the place that’s best for you, we need to dig deeper…

I’m not going to tell you to “move to Panama,” for example…

But I may suggest you check out the little-known town, three and a half hours from Panama City, that has all the amenities of the capital without the heat, humidity, and traffic…

Or its unspoiled Pacific shores where you could take long walks on the beach or surf till your heart’s content…

My point is, among each of the 7 countries on my list, you have a handful of hot spots to choose from…

And over the three days of our Live And Invest In Latin America Virtual Conference, my dedicated team of experts and I will introduce you to these special places… right down to neighborhood level…

You’ll discover…
My top pick for a sophisticated city lifestyle. Think fine dining, first-class art galleries, museums, and theater… clean streets and plazas (and a pristine Metro to get you where you need to go)…
The most affordable island in the Caribbean. It’s English-speaking and has a large expat population (yet you can own a condo, just a few minutes’ stroll from the sand, for US$99,900)…
Where to live a “Napa Valley lifestyle” at a fraction the cost… with lots of opportunity for adventure in the great outdoors…
The Caribbean beach town that’s a long-time favorite with European expats. You’ll find every kind of cuisine here… and it’s one of the best places in the world to catch humpback whales in all their glory…
A colonial city on the Pacific. Visitors come for the long, sandy beaches, lined by one of the longest boardwalks and bike lanes in the hemisphere. But it’s the newly refurbished historic center that’s luring full-time expats…
World-class beaches at bargain prices (own on the sand from as little as US$59,000)… in a place that offers year-round tropical weather, rich culture, great food, excellent health care, and safe nightlife…
A city with a strong Italian influence. Live in an upscale neighborhood within walking distance of restaurants, theaters, clubs, shops… and be a short hop from the city’s beaches…
Never Miss A Thing With Instant Replay of Every Session…
This is an opportunity to get to know Latin America without all of the expenses and hassles for travel…

…for a fraction of the cost of an in-person event.

Thanks to our top-end online event system, you’ll have unique video access to experts from Latin America and the globe to help you with every possible endeavor.

Since it’s all over video, you’ll never miss a thing with instant video recordings available to you at all times.

Unlike other virtual events, you’ll be able to ask questions and interact directly with all of our experts.

And, best of all, we’ll have experienced professionals and current retirees to show you what life is really like in Latin America’s best-value havens.

With online events, you save time, travel, and money when compared to an in-person event.
And many more…
Of course, just like anywhere you go in the world, none of these places are perfect…

So, when we introduce you to these havens, we’ll share the pros, cons, and quirks. All to help you make your own call on a place… and make sure you go in with your eyes wide open…

Extremely helpful…

The conference was extremely helpful as a first step in considering all of the options that are available to me. I didn’t even know what they were until your conference. Also, as a single woman moving alone, you quelled my concerns over safety in the areas that I will be considering. I look forward to receiving additional information from you to assist me as I proceed with my move.

Renting Or Buying? Your Dollars
Go Farther All Over Latin America…
Whether you’re planning to rent or buy, as a dollar-holder today, you can find incredible bargains in Latin America.

You’ll probably want to rent at first. But once you get your bearings and appreciate the great values on offer, you may find it cheaper to own.

And, if you’re not staying all year, you could rent out your home for some side income.
Own your own home on a slice of world-class beach from US$59,000.
We’ll talk through all these options at our Live And Invest In Latin America Virtual Conference. Meantime, here are some current rentals on the market in our top Latin American havens…
In Mazatlán, Mexico… a safe and welcoming pacific beach town with a charming Spanish-colonial old quarter… a 2-bedroom apartment, just a block away from the beach and boardwalk, is available for US$670 a month…
In Medellín, Colombia… the “City of Eternal Spring” that’s won awards for its innovation… a modern, 3-bed apartment (close to shopping and entertainment) is asking US$313 a month…
In Cayo, Belize… the best place in the world to get back to nature… you can rent a cozy, 2-bed home, just 15 minutes from town, for US$550…
And here’s just a taste of some of the great values we’re seeing out there for sale…
In Santa Marta on Colombia’s Caribbean coast (where the locals go to escape the tourist crowds)… a 3-bed corner house, just a short drive from the beach, is asking US$54,800…
Las Terrenas, Dominican Republic… a brand-new, one-bed condo in a small gated community—steps from one of the island’s best beaches—is asking US$125,000…
Chitré, Panama… just 10 minutes from the center, a family home with 2 beds, 2 baths, and a covered patio—sitting on 5 acres—is on the market for US$150,000…
Mazatlán, Mexico… own a beautifully restored colonial home right in the heart of Centro Historico for US$184,000… or a 4-bed home in a gated community, just off the beach, for US$199,800…
In Mendoza, Argentina… a 7.8-hectare finca in the heart of this world-famous wine-producing region. Close to the charming town of San Rafael, and with a 290-square-meter, two-bed home on the property, it’s asking US$224,900…
Again, this is just a small sample. You’ll get more information on properties for sale and rent (along with contact details for experts who can help you) at our Live and Invest in Latin America Virtual Conference.

Very informative, extremely useful…

Genuine, informative, honest professionals. Very informative, extremely useful. I found all presenters to be candid, knowledgeable, and honest.

Hear What Day-To-Day Life Is Like Straight From The Expats
You already know I’m a huge fan of Latin America…

My husband Lief and I live part-year in Panama where we divide our time between Panama City (home of Live and Invest Overseas HQ) and the beach community we’re building on the west coast of the Azuero Peninsula…
With our friend Andrew Palmer enjoying Panama’s Casco Viejo…
Panama is the perfect base for us to travel around Latin America (for business and pleasure)… to jet back to the States for visits with family and friends… and, from here, we can fly direct to Paris, France where we base ourselves the other half of the year…

But I am just one voice. One expat among millions living out their dream in this vast land of opportunity…

So, to help you figure out where makes sense for you, it’s important to bring as many voices as possible to the table…

To that end, over the course of this Live And Invest In Latin America Virtual Conference, you’ll hear from several expats who have gone before you. These folks, scattered among different corners of Latin America, can tell you all about their chosen havens… the ups and downs of everyday life… and tips for settling in…

The expats you’ll hear from have traveled far and wide. Some have gone alone… others have taken their whole family along for the ride…

They’ve rented, bought, renovated, and sold homes. They’ve started businesses, educated children, used hospital services, gone through residency red tape, dealt with local authorities…

So, when they recommend a place, you can be confident it’s a place that other expats, like you, would enjoy…

When they recommend a professional or service, you know it’s one you can trust…

Here are just some of the expats you’ll get to hear from…
From Retirees To Digital Nomads—
Expats Speak Out
Jeff and Heather
Full-time Expats in Medellín, Colombia
Back in Florida, Jeff and Heather ran a chiropractic office. While serving the community on health and wellness, they also had a dream to eventually live in and explore another country.

Though they were already living a great life in St. Petersburg, Jeff and Heather longed for something different. After learning about Medellín, Colombia, and making a few visits in 2014 and 2015, they decided to make the big move to full-time expat living in March 2017.
Dusty and Carolyn
Full-time Expats in Chitré, Panama
With over 30 years’ experience of globetrotting, courtesy of the U.S. Navy, Dusty decided it was time for a change. Retiring from the Navy, Dusty next became a professor for the Ventura Community College District before going to work with a big box retailer.

Repositioning to Hawaii he anticipated living out his retirement years in paradise. The downturn in the economy prompted Dusty and his wife Carolyn to seek new opportunities and new adventures overseas. In 2013 they became full-time adventure seekers residing in Chitré, Panama.
Melody Warner
Part-time Expat in Dominican Republic
Melody Warner owns and runs a home care agency for the elderly. She is a registered nurse, has a B.A. in environmental studies, and is a fluent Spanish speaker. She has lived everywhere from Oregon to West Virginia to the Dominican Republic, and currently resides in Baltimore, Maryland.

Melody divides her time between running her business, whitewater kayaking, and traveling to the DR whenever she can.
Sasha Savinov
Digital Nomad in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
Sasha Savinov is an English teacher, language student, blogger, and video producer from Michigan. He studied video production at Michigan State University and moved abroad right after graduating. Since then, he’s lived in China, Indonesia, and Mexico, and is currently trying the digital nomad lifestyle with his wife across South America.
For the past four years, the couple has kept their base in Puerto Vallarta—Mexico’s most romantic beach town. Together they run Grateful Gypsies, a blog focused on teaching ESL, long-term travel, being a digital nomad, and live music.
That’s just a taste of our expat line-up for this Live And Invest In Latin America Virtual Conference. But already you can appreciate how these folks come from all walks of life and have settled in different versions of paradise…

Remember, not only will you get to hear their stories… and tap into their top tips… you’ll also have the chance to put your own questions to them, in real time, via our live chat…

Very effective virtual conference…

Wow! I’m learning so much. I was worried that attending virtually might not be ideal, but this is a very effective virtual conference.

Do I need to be fluent in Spanish (or Portuguese) before I go?

You can’t find reliable answers to all your questions simply by trawling the web…

How to make your stay legal (we’ll walk you through your options for visas, residency, and citizenship)… and how you can avoid jumping through residency hoops altogether (and still be legal)…

Here are just some of the crew you’ll get to hear from live, online, during our interactive event this October…

Philip M. Hahn
International Development Consultant and Part-time Belize Expat
Phil Hahn always dreamed of the tropics while growing up in Michigan. He started his southerly migration in 1982 by attending Florida State University. Prior to graduation, he started a residential design business that ultimately designed over 6,000 homes and expanded into construction and development.

In 2003, Phil saw the potential for development in Belize and purchased 115 acres for the development of a new Caribbean town. Combining his experience with coastal home design and his love of classical architecture, he planned, permitted, and founded a thriving “New Urbanism” community.
In 2010, Phil was hired to plan and develop 98 acres on the Belize River in the Cayo District of Belize. Recognizing the mass desire for freedom and independence, which he shares with many expat baby boomers, Phil envisioned and designed a place, Carmelita Gardens, where people can be “independent together.” Thanks to his vision and a dedicated team of Belizeans and expats, Carmelita Gardens is emerging as the prototype for a whole new development trend of self-sufficient traditional communities.

Access The Best Of Latin America… At The Lowest Price Possible…
The beauty of this Live And Invest In Latin America Virtual Conference is that you get to explore all these different options… without having to put in the hefty groundwork all by yourself…

And, because we’re hosting this event online, you don’t have to think about booking a flight or hotel…

All you need to access everything I’ve mentioned above is one virtual ticket…

If you haven’t attended a Live and Invest Overseas virtual event before, please understand that this is not a series of webinars. This is a professional event, taking place in real time, that happens to be online…

It’s everything you’d get at an in-person event… minus the coffee breaks and cocktails (we do take time out for lunch every day… and encourage you to have your favorite drinks and snacks by your side)…

And we aim to make our time together as fun and interactive as possible. You’ll be able to meet with speakers as well as your fellow readers via chat rooms and forums, along with a virtual “raise your hand” option to ask your questions during sessions…
Experience it live…
and get lifetime
access to ALL of the information
Your registration today gets you more than just interactive access to the event, our experts, and all of their insights…

Because this is all done via video over the internet, we’ll be able to record everything—every data sheet, every checklist, every discussion, every panel debate, and every bit of information.

We’ll edit, organize, and package it all into a high-definition video program that you can download or access online whenever and from wherever you want…

Unlike our live events, these recordings will not immediately be available for purchase to the general public.
The price of this Live And Invest In Latin America Virtual Conference will be US$595 for access to all 3 days of the event…

This cost includes full access to the interactive workshops and presentations, all bonus reports, guides, and event materials, as well as access to the chat rooms and forums where you’ll get to mingle with the experts as well as like-minded adventurers also looking to make a move overseas.

When you consider all you’re getting, that’s one great value. But you don’t need to pay that much right now…

Getting in today, you can save at least US$200…

Our Early Bird Discount brings your cost of entry down to just US$595 US$395.

This cost includes:
Full access to the interactive workshops and presentations over all 4 days…
The Attendee Private Library, which includes research reports, legal guides, maps, and more…
All seminar materials, including session and chat schedules, biographies, and contact information for our faculty of experts
Access to the chatrooms and forums where you’ll get to mingle with the experts as well as like-minded adventurers also looking to make a move to Latin America…
On-demand recording access for every single session, including every question and answer—you’ll never miss a thing…
After the event, you’ll get access to the professionally-edited video package (it’ll be many months before this is available to the public)…
Again, all this is yours for just US$395… as long as you act in time to grab your Early Bird Discount.

In addition, you may be eligible for an even better discount:
Subscribers of Overseas Living Letter, Global Property Advisor, Panama Letter, and Simon Letter will get a US$50 discount…

Whatever You’re Dreaming Of,
The Answer Is Out There…
Our goal for this event is to show you exactly where and how you can improve your lifestyle dramatically (and slash your cost of living) by reinventing your life in a new country…

No details will be spared (good, bad or ugly)… no stone left unturned…

We’ll go beyond the tourist scene to show you what real life is like in these havens.

If you’re after a laid-back lifestyle in a tranquil paradise, we’ve got you covered…

Or, if you’re hoping to fill your days with the things you love to do (but never seem to have time for)… you’d like to start a new side business for fun or profit… or you’d like to volunteer in your new community… then we’ll help you connect all the dots there, too…

Really, whatever you’re dreaming of, it’s out there. And, we can help get you there in 12 months or less.

It all begins with this first step…

I hope to see you online.

Sincerely,
Kathleen Peddicord
